Wang Wenxiang, director and chief physician of the Second Department of Thoracic Surgery, Hunan Cancer Hospital, pointed out that in recent years, more and more patients with peripheral lung cancer were found in physical examination, and most of them were female patients who did not smoke. The academic circles thought it was related to their long-term exposure to high-temperature kitchen fumes.
Some surveys have found that women’s long-term exposure to high-temperature fumes will increase their risk of lung cancer by 2-3 times. Among non-smoking female lung cancer patients, more than 60% have long-term exposure to kitchen fumes; 32% women like to fry food in high-temperature oil when cooking, and the kitchen doors and windows are closed or poorly ventilated.
Wang Wenxiang pointed out that different cooking oils have different smoke points, and the higher the smoke point, the healthier the cooking oil. Among the commonly used edible oils, camellia seed oil has a high smoke point and can be used as a healthy first choice for cooking. In the cooking process, try to use medium fire, and control the temperature when cooking, so as not to smoke as the limit, which can not only reduce the damage of fatty acids and vitamins caused by high temperature, but also minimize the generation of smoke; Try to choose a pot with a thick bottom for cooking, so as to reduce a lot of oil smoke generated by the sharp rise of temperature in the wok; Try to use cooking methods such as steaming, boiling and stewing to reduce the oil smoke caused by frying; Ensure good ventilation in the kitchen, clean the range hood regularly, and wear a mask when necessary to reduce the smoke inhalation.
Wang Wenxiang reminded that the clinical cure rate of early lung cancer is over 80%, especially for women’s early lung cancer, most of which are peripheral lung cancer. Thoracoscopic surgery can achieve radical cure of lung cancer through 1 ~ 3 keyhole-sized operation incisions, and the curative effect is not inferior to that of large incision open surgery.
